            九歲驚聞自學成

            東顰欲效步羅庚

            今年偶遇當年夢

            翌日重溫昨日情

            獨步數壇名種播

            千層大地勁松崢

            如今弄斧班門口

            索鋸英倫啟發誠

At nine, 

I saw you shine,

Thro' being self-taught,

and after many battles fought.

You I set as my model.

Luckily, this year, I can meet my idol.

Tomorrow, I'll recount yesterday's meeting.

In China, you started the mathematical seedling.

Now much brilliance it is bringing.  

Today, I wave my amateur axes at your door,

For enlightenment I bow on the floor!
